I heard a line in a movie last night that got me thinking. The line was; "what happened to the American Dream?.............it came true!

What has the American Dream turned into anyways?. To buy stuff you dont need with money you dont have, to impress people you dont like? Hasn't the American Dream turned into a society whose social model is debt?. Credit cards and installments?. Do you really own anything? Are you really free? Exactly where is your money and retirement? On a computer somewhere?. Does that wealth really exsist anywhere? Your credit rating is your "slave rating" The better the slave, the more the Master trusts the slave to put him further into servitude. And what is free anymore?. You have to pay to do anything in America. From fishing, camping, hunting, driving, living, even owning a dog. You never really own your home, even if you pay it off. Every year you must pay the government to keep it. Nothing is free in America. We are reaping the harvest we have sown. I hear the politics complaining about everything in America especially the President. But we let this happen, because we were always looking for the easy way out. Get what we want now and pay for it later. Well, that mentality reached into every aspect of our lives. Including politics. Now we are beginning to see the harvest ahead. Understand your Condemnation people and get ready for the harvest you have sown. It wont be from an outside enemy or ideology or religion. It is simply the ultimate outcome from decades of not facing the truth.

No Delay

Everywhere I look I see people who are walking a false path. Their obsession with “security” at the expense of their callings compels them to do jobs they hate. Grin and bear it, until I turn sixty-five, and then my real life will begin. What if our soul-scriptures only give us fifty years to actualize them?

By the time we retire at sixty-five many of us cannot even begin to access our real self. With our God-seeds planted in the wrong fields, we have become too tired and even ill from carrying the weight of the lie to really touch the moment. Forty years encased in stone will do that to you. And that’s if we survive until then -- many of us die from the lie. If we don’t shape up, we may be shipped out.

If we do what we really love, there is no such thing as retirement. The soul beat goes on. If we love our work, we may well make less money before sixty-five, but we are much more likely to live longer and healthier, and to actually want to work well past sixty-five. Is wholeness not the only retirement plan worth saving for?

Somehow it all comes down to truth, or consequences. There is something seemingly safe about living falsely. On one level everything remains unreal, even suffering, because we are walking a false path. Our choices are holdbacks, hiding places, escape hatches. If we don’t get what we want, we don’t really care. It wasn’t our real path anyway.

But the consequences of our falsity are profound. When we live our truth, there is no dissonance along the mind-body-spirit continuum. We flow in the river true. Yet when we lie to ourselves, we corrupt our inner world. It takes an enormous amount of energy to self-distort. The lies get into our cells, and we suffer for it. The convenient fictions we tell ourselves to keep the truth at bay -- “I’ll live my truth later … after I pay off the house” -- become inconvenient factions that congeal and ultimately undermine our very existence. We should be more afraid of avoiding our path than living it.

If thinking of our own death doesn’t motivate us, it may help to think of those who never made it down the birth canal. Think of those little ones who tasted but a few breaths before succumbing. Think of those who died on battlefields so that we would have a chance to be free. Remember how hard they fought for this life, how badly they wanted it.

No matter what others have mistakenly told us, we are all needed here for our gifts, however small or humble they may outwardly appear. If not, the universe would take us back in the blink of an eye. No matter what we may have done in our lifetime, no matter how uncomfortable we are with our past actions, there is always the chance of growing our soul a little bit more.

Dear Reader, please walk your own way while you still can. The truth is that there is no escape from reality. There is only postponement. When it comes down to it -- and make no mistake, it does come down to it -- all you are is your soul’s journey. What else is there? What else is worthy of the time that you have been given?

I've noticed lately that Fox News create their own stories. They make the news, then report on it. For example, in the latest attack on Bill Clinton, Fox News Contributors accuse the former president of jeapordizing our national security by speaking with the dictator of North Korea Kim Jong Ill.Fox News political contributor Dick (emphasis on "DICK") Morris when he said Clinton's "awful," "ridiculous" trip to North Korea.Morris said of the two freed journalists: "I feel badly for the two" Morris later responded to a question about "how were we supposed to get them home" by stating: "Maybe they don't come home. Maybe they go to North Korea and they live with the consequences of their decision to go there." journalists, but what were they doing in North Korea in the first place?"

Then later Fox News person Bill Hemmer says Bill Clinton secured the release of the journalists while adding that some people are criticizing his actions (the "some people" ARE FOX PEOPLE!!!!). Then they go replay their own contributors comments and call it news??????

We played at this venue about 8 weeks ago and they really wanted us to come back. So we agreed.

A personal opinion of

As our nation moves closer to a deepening recession and at the same time closer to the ending of a major economic melt down, the question that remains is: Will our nation and people ever regain it once proud and prosperous status we once had? What will our nation look like? What kind of jobs will our children do? Will our middle class survive?

I have given this question much thought, and tried to put all the factors in some kind of order to evaluate just what our future holds for us as a people and a nation. In previous essays I have discussed what I believe to have been the major contributions to this current economic crisis. Just for review I have listed some of the major events below:

1. The passage of the “Federal Reserve System”

2. The passage of Erisa

3. The move to fiat money

4. The repeal of the Glass Segal Act

5. The passage of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act

6. The passage of Free Trade agreements (not fair trade)

7. The lack of oversight and failure of the SEC.

All of these actions or inactions contributed to our current crisis and many more could be added to the list. However, the question remains, “What will our nation look like in the future?” and can we recover our once proud status as an industrial leader?

I remember visiting my grandparents, when I was a kid. They had chickens, a cow, and a garden. They got eggs and meat from the chickens, milk and butter from the cow. And raised potatoes, corn, okra, tomatoes, and a variety of other items. The point is they were as self sufficient as possible. They had all this and they lived in town, not on a farm. Now I do not believe our current generations of Americans are ready to put a cow and some chickens in their backyard like the depression era Americans did, or people of the third world countries have to do.

I am beginning to believe that we are again making short term decisions to try to fix a long term problem. Decisions that may give us a lift in the current financial crisis facing our citizens but failing to address the long term causes of this crisis.. It is like the type 2 diabetic that takes medication for his condition, but fails to change his eating habits to correct the cause. It is the path of least resistance. He knows the cause of his illness, but lacks the self discipline to correct his problem.

We know the cause, of our present crisis, but lack the guts to face the hard solutions necessary to fix the problem. And there can be no doubt that it would be a very hard dose of medicine to swallow. Imagine if we repealed the repeal of the Glass Segal Act. And forced the commercial banks and investment banks to again separate, how could Bank of America get rid of Merrill Lynch, or CitiGroup get rid of their brokerage companies. Maybe we could trade them to China and get some of our trade deficit covered. After all, the United States Government owns most of them anyway.

Imagine how difficult it would be to get Fair Trade agreements rather than Free Trade agreements with the nations that we call trading partners. Trying to renegotiate trade agreements with all the counties that we have sent our citizens jobs to would set off a trade war greater than we could imagine.

I could go on and on about the consequences of correcting all the bad decisions of the past, but the fact is they been made, and we must deal with the current reality as it exist today.

The nation’s trade deficit is out of control, we import far more than we export. But the real story is not that we export less than we import. The real problem is what we export. That is the real disaster. We are not exporting much in the way of manufactured goods. We have already exported the jobs that manufactured our industrial and technical achievements. No we are exporting commodities, the things that go into making those goods for sale. We export metals, coal, timber, corn, wheat, etc. The very goods that we used to import from third world countries. And believe it or not we even export crude oil. (According to Lou Dobbs on CNN). It is just so hard for me to believe, that in this day of importing millions of barrels of foreign oil, we would actually see companies exporting our dwindling supply of crude oil.

It’s hard to accept that we have put ourselves on the path to becoming a third world nation. But, that is the path we seem to be heading down. And not at a slow walk, but rather a gallop down a path of self destruction. The slow walk to becoming a third world country began when we started giving our jobs and technology to the rest of the world. And we removed all the regulations protecting the financial security of our citizens. Now, the chickens have come home to roost.

The Long Way Home

Is there a way back? Of course there is. Do we have the stuff it takes to get there? Of course we do. But will we? That I can not answer.

When I was in business I learned to make a list of things to do. Numbering each item on my list, by order of importance. One thru ten, never more than ten items at a time, so as not to overwhelm myself with more than it was possible for me to handle. Thus discouraging myself from even attempting to solve my problems. Then attacking number 1 first. As it was the most important item on the list. Never going on to number two until number one was completed. If the most important item took more time for some other input that required waiting for a response in order to complete. I could then set it aside and start on number two while I waited for a response, then it was back to number one until completed. It was a simple rule used by the most successful businesses and CEO’s.

It is the same for our nation. First things first then move on to number two, three, four, etc. We need jobs first, and then we can move on to number two. My number two item is: We need good long term jobs, jobs that can pay a living wage and withstand the urge to ship off shore. I see that kind of job more that fixing pot holes in the asphalt road, but rather by building a completely new way of transportation. Hi Speed, rail systems, new electric grid that can distribute wind power all over our nations. New and clean sources of energy. Green homes that are not only energy efficient, but energy independent with solar cells on there roof tops and rain water collection systems and gray water irrigation systems,

Then we need to call a derivative exactly what it is: Insurance, and regulate it accordingly. With reserves requirements. And reinstate the Glass-Steagall act. If we could develop alternative energy and could cut or consumption of foreign oil by half, $300 billion would remain in the United States, repaying our $780 billion stimulus package in less that three years.

We need to make the dollar worth something again. But since it is not backed by gold but rather by what you can purchase with it. We need to be able to manufacture goods here for the rest of the world to buy, rather than sell them our natural resources till we no longer have any left.

I am not sure how we are going to do all these things, or which item should be 3,4,5, etc. And for sure it will be painful medicine, but we need not to lose sight of the cause while we treat the symptoms.

As the second bail out makes its’ way through the Senate, the question remains: will it save our economy? I hate to be a naysay, but I am beginning to get the feeling that it’s too little too late. And all the money in the world may be too little. And perhaps it’s just throwing good money after bad. Or borrowed money is a more realistic term. I’m not sure we are going after the reasons this melt down occurred in the first place.

The deeper I dig into the cause of this decession (not quite a depression but more than a recession}, the more skeletons start to surface. If you understand derivatives your farther ahead than most of us and surely much farther ahead than our elected leaders.

But for the sake of simplicity, I’ll try to explain my understanding of the of the sub prime mortgage mess. This particular type of derivative is now infamous as a Sub prime CDO. (Collateralized Debt Obligation)

These investments were basically bets that borrowers with a poor credit rating or no job at all could make his mortgage payment on a home worth less than he paid for it. Then when his payment went up due to an interest rate adjustment a few years into his mortgage he would surely be able to make the higher payments as well.

Because the borrowers had such poor credit or no credit, it meant the banks and mortgage lenders could charge high fees and rates. Then sell the loans off to unsuspecting investors. It looked very attractive to banks and hedge funds to get hi yields in a time of low interest and low inflation. The risk appeared to be low and the return appeared to be great. Until the borrowers stop making payments on homes that they cannot afford and are not worth what they owe.

Now you have to remember these Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO’s) derivatives are really bets that are bought on an enormous amount of leverage.

For example, any wealthy individual could put down one million dollars and then leverage this amount 3 times. Thus holding $4 million (one million in equity and three million in debt). The fund can then leverage this $4 million another 3 or 4 times and invest then in a hedge fund; then the hedge fund can take these funds and leverage them another 3 or 4 times and buy derivatives like sub prime CDO’s which are often leveraged 9 or 10 times. You get the picture in the end: the initial $1 million of equity can become a $100 million investment. But $99 million of that is debt.

There was no regulatory body watching out for the public or protecting the greedy bankers and brokers from their own greed. This has created the largest credit bubble in history.

If you expand this to the global economy the figures are astronomical. In 5 years the global derivatives market grew from $100 trillion to almost $600 trillion.

The Financial Times in June 25 2008 reported that “…total global losses from the coming financial meltdown could easily reach $25,000 billion to $30,000 billion”. This can plunge us into the deepest deleveraging since the Great Depression.

Now you see where all the money went. It never really existed in the first place. Remember the $99 million in debt in our example. It only takes a 1% drop in the investment to wipe out the $100 million that the investors are carrying on their books.

Now here is the Kicker. The amount the traders have to put down in order to place there derivative bets is based upon their credit rating. If their credit rating is downgraded they have to put up more money to cover their purchases. To Do that the banks, hedge funds, money market funds private equity funds, etc must sell their investments. But no one want to buy the CDO’s. So they must sell their good investments. Which causes the market to drop and causes further selling, and further downgrades and so on and so on.

This has the potential to wipe $20 trillion to $30 trillion off the global exchanges. We have all ready seen $10 trillion wiped off the global stock exchanges in just a month and that was after central banks pumped a trillion dollars into the system.

So now when we look back and remember the SEC granting the investment bankers the ability to go from 8 to 1, to 40 to 1 reserve how devastating a decision that was. And the bill that Phil Gramm pushed to allow the banks, insurance companies and investment bankers/brokerage houses to merge how significant that was. And when Alan Greenspan remarked that he didn’t understand how derivatives worked and we should look into regulating them. But no one did or seemed to care in Washington.

There is not enough money in the world to fix this problem. No a lot of business will go bankrupt and a lot of families will suffer because of greed and lack of oversight.

Is it really going to “Change”. with government officials that thumb their noses at paying their fair share of taxes and Business leaders that give themselves bonus and outlandish salaries at the taxpayers expense and 20 lobbyist for every elected official. Who do these people think they are? We should require that they pass a IQ test and insist that they must take a course in morals, then give them lie detectors test every 6 months. And require refresher courses in morals just to make sure their uppity positions don’t let them get too far away from reality.

Is it going to change? I think Not, but I pray it will.

Let go and LOVE!

As I sit here on this Sunday morning after Thanksgiving and write this blog, I must confess that I was, and continue to be completely burned out on Presidential politics. Let's just give it break for awhile and see what develops. I hear alot of speculation about what to expect from Obama. But I'm going to let him define his presidency by his own actions, not by anyone elses analysis at this juncture. So let's move on from that topic for a spell.

The economy? They say that Black Friday sales were good. I guess that's a good sign. Since the real threat to the economy is people not having the confidence to spend or invest money.

The whole monetary system is nothing but a confidence scheme. CONFIDENCE is a VERY important part of a good "con". The people are the "marks". They(the moneychangers) actually have been successful in getting all of us to believe that printed money has a value.........say's who?? Says the Federal Reserve. Is the Federal Reserve "federal". Nope. Is it our government? Nope. Is our money backed by Gold? Nope. Silver? Nope What backs it up? Nothing but your CONFIDENCE. As long as you BELIEVE and OTHERS BELIEVE in the value of the printed piece of paper that says "Federal Reserve Note" It will continue to hold its value. When the so called "marks" (all of us) wake up to the "con" (the Federal Reserve). It's over. Then something new will come along and take its place. The world won't end. But the dollar will eventually.

Remember that all you own, your house, your cars, your collections, everything, including your body will pass away. This is a fact. Only you as a "spirit" will continue. How does your spirit cope with the idea of losing all your worldly stuff?? That is a good indicator where your heart lies.

Christ tells us not to worry about the daily needs that we all have. But he does ask us to be concerned about our "spiritual needs". Don't be afraid of losing "stuff". Be afraid of losing yourself in the process of trying desperately to hold on to things that have no real value in the end anyway. Love is most valued. Give some away!!!

How to Empty the National Treasury

As I write this essay our nation is in is the throws of a national financial crisis. A crisis of such magnitude that our best economist and national leaders are unable to begin even thinking of a way to bring our nation back into the once prosperous place in the world that we once occupied. Wringing their hands, shaking their heads, and blaming each other for the failure of our economy. Asking themselves: what caused this disaster to happen? Unable to see the cause, because they seek a simple answer that they can explain away and blame someone else for their inability to protect the citizens from financial melt down.

Kerplunk theory: Like a slow drip from a leaky faucet, those small drips ultimately fill a bucket. The longer the leak goes untended the buckets will fill a pool. Ultimately, it becomes a river washing away any thing in its path. As, it is with our current financial crisis. Changes in our laws, regulations, and decisions made over a long period have come home to the roost. Each change meant to provide some kind of positive response ultimately having instead unintended consequences. We must go back more than 40 years to some of the events that lead us to our present problem.

In the 1960s’ a tax loophole was created for American Corporations that allowed corporations not to be taxed on profits generated in foreign countries until those profits were brought back into the United States. Meant as an incentive for corporations to spread capitalism around the world and thus prevent the spread of Communism. Seemed to work for a while. However, there were unintended consequences: Rather than bring the money back into the United States to be taxed on, it encouraged companies to reinvest those profits, in new and expanded plants and factories in the foreign countries that had lower tax rates. Thus creating jobs in foreign lands and avoiding contributing to the tax burden of the American people. As of writing, that untaxed profits currently are estimated to be $500 billion dollars that lay in foreign banks. A small leak in the whole scheme of things, but nonetheless a leak, costing lost taxes, and American jobs. As you will see a small leak in our National Treasury.

Fiat Money: After years of Americans, buying goods from Japan and other nations of the world the demand on our gold and silver reserves were being taxed to the limit. The then President Richard Nixon pushed to remove the requirement of having precious metals as backing for our national currency. Asking instead that the American dollar be accepted as value in trade for the goods and services our nation could provide. The creations of this “Fiat Money” that is money that lacks any form of precious metal as backing allowed the U.S. Treasury to print as much money as they wished without regard to the need to have reserves to back its’ value. History has shown that no government has survived for more than 50 years after adopting Fiat Money plan. Now it is not to say Fiat Money is all bad. There is probably not enough gold on the planet to back all the money that the Treasury has printed. And in a economy that has expanded to include all the nations of the world we need the liquidly that it provides. However, we needed to guard against the destruction of the industries that provided the creation of our nations’ wealth.

This change in financial policy opened the door to run away inflation. Inflation that took off like a rocket and forced President Nixon to ask American Industry to freeze wages and prices. Under the next President, President Carter interest rates hit an all time high reaching 21%. And the recession of the 1970’s ensued

The Seventies brought another act meant to help the working man: ERISA The Employees Retirement Income Security Act. This bill changed forever the way industry would provide retirement benefits. The defined Benefit plans that our fathers and grand parents enjoyed went by the way side and 401ks’ replaced them. This allowed corporations to relieve themselves of having to put aside large sums of money to meet their future obligations to future retiring employees. Corporations loved it because it limited their future payouts and the stock brokers loved to get the investments in stocks, bonds and mutual funds. But the demographics meant that as 70 million baby boomers started to retire they would have to begin to sell those stocks in order to have income to live on. Should the market have a sever decline panic would set in and the danger of selling all their stocks would drive the market further down. The same problem facing social security of more retires than new employees would insure a deficit in funding.

A Nations Wealth Lies in it Ability to Create Goods and Services that people Need and Want: With the change to Fiat Money, it effectively turned the keys to the National Treasury turned over to that part of our nation that manufactures the products that mankind needs and wants. Our National Treasury became American Industry, and the American workers became the ones responsible to enhance that wealth. It was up Congress and the Senate to protect our National Treasury. Unfortunately, they saw the success of the Corporations as the source of our wealth. Not realizing that it was the American Worker in this country that was the creator of our wealth. So in an effort to make the greatest profits companies shifted more of our nation’s treasury to foreign shores. Turning the keys to our treasury over to foreign nations. As long as American Industry was healthy and growing, the Treasury could print as many dollars as they wished. Assuming that the amount they printed was balanced with the output of growth in exports. But as our treasury was moving out of the United States to other countries there was less and less to export and more and more to import.

Free Trade: The tax loophole of the 1960s’ was but a small leak in our treasury. It wasn’t until we unlocked the doors to our treasury with NAFTA and other free trade agreements that the doors to our National Treasury were thrown open for the entire world to help themselves to our wealth that the real drain began. Free Trade is one thing, Fair Trade quite another. Believing that we could continue to manufacture and sell billions of dollars of goods to the people in other nations would enhance the value of American Corporations was a fallacy. Goods made by workers with livable salaries and reasonable benefits were too expensive for the poorer citizens of these countries. But goods manufactured by people willing to work for a few pennies per hour would be much cheaper here in the United States. Therefore it made sense to move American manufacturing facilities to these foreign nations. Increasing profits for American corporations and shareholders, but destroying the lively hood of the American worker. The real people responsible for the keys to our National Treasury were slowly loosing then to foreign workers.

Kerkplunk, kerplunk , the leak continues. During the Clinton Admistration, Senator Phil Gramm pushed legislation that favored the financiers of our country; the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. This bill removed the regulations that had kept banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms from owing one another. Meant as a safety net to protect the citizen’s assets and accounts by the failure of one firm would not take down another firm. The Gramm bill removed this restriction and Banks rapidly bought other firms. Within weeks Citicorp acquired the Travelers Insurance Co. Investment Banks, Brokerage Firms and Insurance companies consolidated into larger and larger firms. Creating firms with more and more influence on the elected leaders of our nation. At the same time creating a situation that the failure of any could have catastrophic consequences should it fail. The belief that they were to big to fail. But they Failed. They Failed Big time.

There was some hope as late as 2005 that their failures could have been limited to a smaller amount. But in 2005, the five largest Investment Banks in our nation. Petitioned the Security Exchange Commission to lower their reserve requirements, allowing a 30 to 1, from 8 to 1. This allowed these firms to take on three times as much risk than previously permitted. Too big to fail? They were able to lose three times as much money than before. Costing the American taxpayer three times as much debt..

Big does not mean Better. The bigger a company gets the more complex it becomes. The more people that need to be supervised, the more cracks to fall into, the more people scrambling for power and the more greed that can take root. Big is not better, Better is Better. It’s not to say that there are not some great large companies, There are. But when your responsible for other peoples money in a fiduciary capacity its easier to spend other peoples money. Especially that if win you make more money, and If you fail you make more money. But we lose, when they lose.

We haven’t touched on the national debt or the cost of the war in Iraq. But the nation debt plays a major role in the drain on our nations wealth. In January 1981, our national debt was $930 billion . That included unpaid debt from World War 2, and Viet Nam. By the time Ronald Reagan left office he had created more debt during his eight years in office then any of the presidents that had preceded him had in more than 200 years. Leaving office with a$2.60 trillion debt. Bush Sr. left office after 4 years leaving behind a debt of $4 trillion. Eight years of Bill Clinton left behind a debt of $5.78 trillion. That brings us to “W” . It is expected that the current president will leave us with a $12 to $13 trillion debt. Just the interest on the debt alone is approximately a billion dollars a day. It was George Washington that said, ”WE cannot pay off our nations debt with borrowed money.” Too bad he’s not alive today to tell our current leaders. It is a simple Econ 101. But apparently too hard for Presidents, Senators and Congressmen to understand.

There are too many reasons that led to the path of a economic meltdown. Lack of an energy policy that leaks $600 billion a year from our nations wealth. If our national treasury (American Industry,) is to be restored, it will need an abundant supply of cheap energy. And jobs for the men and women that creates our wealth.

What do you suppose would have happened if we had taken care of America’s working class? Protecting the real Wealth of our Nation. Protecting their jobs, providing them with wages that kept up with the cost of living. Providing health care so that a catastrophic illness would not wipe out all their assets. Perhaps there would have made enough money to pay their mortgage. Perhaps the would have been fewer bad loans; perhaps there would have been fewer bankruptcies. Perhaps we would have less crime, fewer abortions and healthier nations as a whole. Who knows? But it’s sure we will need more than “Joe the Plumber” to fix the leaks in our National Treasury and repair this economic meltdown. We may not have had a tax increase, but what do you call a trillion dollar bail our at taxpayers expense. The United States is Bankrupt and in deep debt. And we go hat in hand to China, Saudi Arabia, and other foreign nations begging for some our own wealth back. Shame on us. We elected these Bozos.

So now we transfer the failures of the past administrations forward once more to a new President. Hoping beyond Hope that our new President will save us from ourselves. He will need all the support we can give him. However, we must be prepared to sacrifice like never since World War 2, if we are payoff the debts of our nation, our industries and our personal households. We cannot afford to fail, our Nations Sovereignty is at stake. That challenge is before us. The question is are we up to it? Letʼs pray that we are.

We deny what is unpleasant

Hey everyone. Hope all is well with you and yours. Here's a quick blog entry for ya!

We all have our own challenges to overcome. Some of us come to the place in life where we have to finally face those challenges or we continue to live with those challenges ignoring them in denial.

Denial is: 1. the refusal to admit the truth or reality. : 2. assertion that an allegation is false :3. refusal to acknowledge a person or a thing.

These definitions of the word denial in all three instances are a perfect description of the Bullhead City Fire Chief Rick Southey.

In the first definition the Chief refuses to accept the truth as spoken by his own employees and others that have publicly asserted that Chief Southey has fire stations in his fire district that have (in the words of his own men) been "shut down to do inter facility transports".

This was also stated by a Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department Battalion Chief that stated at a fire board meeting that Bullhead was (using the same terminology) "closing stations".

This was also reported to me by Chief Eno on August 9th when he debriefed me on a meeting he had with Chief Southey regarding this issue that had occurred on the morning of August 8th.

So, I'm to believe THREE people have told a lie?? What is their motivation to lie about this? Why am I being accused of telling a "half-truth"? Someone please tell Rick Southey there is no "half truth". It's either the truth or it isn't. So Chief Southey,in my opinion, has used a psychological defense mechanism in which confrontation with a problem or with reality is avoided by denying the existence of the problem or reality

In the second definition of the word;(2): assertion that an allegation is false. That definition was what Chief Southey did at last Thursdays Fire Board Meeting. He asserted the allegations were false, providing NO evidence to back up his claim. At least I had three independent official sources.

And the last definition; (3)refusal to acknowledge a person or a thing.

Chief Southey's refusal to acknowledge my role (person) in the community in the media on KTOX (thing).

He's another one of those public officials who only will appear or do interviews with media sources that he knows will not ask him or even be aware of the issues I raise on my program. He wants the community to believe that somehow I'm the bad guy for asking tough questions and getting no rational answers to them. Chief Southey is afraid to face the truth.

The truth is that sometimes they (BHCFD) have had to "close" a station or severely undermanned it. Why not just admit it? Why make it worse by denying it? Instead he fills a fire board meeting with everyone who has to work under him, to play to HIS audience and face the bad man.....Dave Hayes, who caught him in a lie.

I think Chief Southey is in denial: refusing to admit the truth or reality of something unpleasant.

On a side note. Although I am disappointed in the "truth department" of Chief Southey. I have to admit that I do believe at heart he is a good man and has done many wonderful things for our communities. I believe he wants to do the right thing, he just hasn't quite found his way there yet on this one.

Bob Hayes on John McCains VP Choice

Well, as if John McCain didn’t have enough baggage to lug in this election. He has decided to add some more. Trying to defend his choice of a running mate will really challenge all the Republican old guard that defends even the stupid actions of their peers. With his age problem, and his seven homes, and the image that he is out of touch with the working man. He has go and do something as stupid as choosing a Vice Presidential candidate that has no experience whatsoever in national politics or international relations.

Twenty months on the job training as governor of a state with fewer residents than most cities. Does he really believe the American people see her prepared to run the nation in the event of his dropping dead or having a stroke? Doesn’t he know he is 72years of age. And most people consider that as a factor when choosing a President.

Is carrying the great state of Alaska, with its three electoral votes is a great coup?

With McCain needing all the electoral votes he can get, one would have thought he would have chosen a person that could help influence the voters of a state with more electoral votes.

Or perhaps one that had some experience in economics, since the nation is sliding deeper and deeper into an abyss of debt and recession.

If the man had any political advisors, they must be running for cover to avoid being tarred with the brush of “incompetence“. Forever ruining their careers. Either that or they themselves are stupid. Either way this has the looks of a bad joke. Please tell me this is just a joke, and the real VP nominee will emerge later. PLEASE, PLEASE.

What do we have to do to save the Republican Party?

After 8 years apologizing for likes of George Bush. I’ve had it. As a life long Republican, it has come to this?

I was afraid John McCain, might be showing signs of senility at his age. Now I’m sure, that must be what it is.

Is it too late to call up Ron Paul and move him up into the majors? Or are to stand by and forfeit the game?. Perhaps I should wait till after the Republican Convention and see how it goes. But at this point in the game it looks alot like a forfeit.

Dear fellow local residents,

As you may already know, I sit as the Chairperson of the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District Board of Directors. There is currently an issue that I feel needs to be addressed to the public for their much appreciated input.

Currently our local “non-profit” fire departments have been essentially operating a medical “taxi” service for the local “for profit” hospitals and insurance companies.

What I’m referring to is what is called an “inter-facility transport”. This basically means someone is already checked into the local hospital, but they need a special test or procedure that cannot be done locally. The patient is already admitted and the hospital and/or insurance company has authorized the payment of an ambulance to transport the patient to another medical facility. Even though the patient may not be in any life threatening situation, the patient must be accompanied by a paramedic EMT in a licensed ambulance to the other medical facility, for all the obvious reasons of liability.

The argument FOR being in the “non-emergency medical taxi service” is that these “inter-facility transports” generate income to the Fire Districts. Some would argue that’s a good thing, as it helps defer the costs to the taxpayers. Hmmm. Does it really?

After all the costs involved in operating such a “enterprise”, I truly wonder if the Districts “profits” are real or simply perceived. You have to bring back off duty paramedics or have special staffing for this “service”. It takes a local ambulance(s) “out of service” in the district it’s supposed to be serving.

Also, paramedics that may have just got off a shift, that normally would be resting up for their next “on duty” shift (where hopefully they’ll be well rested and ready to save lives) or they could be called back to work. Not to protect our local residents, but instead, called back to take someone to Las Vegas in a Fire District ambulance acting as a medial taxi for four or five hours for a local for profit hospital. Do they get time and a half for that? Yes. Most fire service folks I’ve talked to didn’t sign up to be “medical cabbys”

Do they put miles and extra wear and tear on our taxpayer purchased ambulances? Yes. Does this practice wear out our emergency vehicles much faster than normal? Yes. Does it leave less emergency equipment in the local area? Yes. Does this “service” require more “administrative staff“ to conduct its business? Yes.

But I think the major issue here is profit vs. public safety and liability. There is also the issue of letting the free market operate freely, but I’ll get to that in a moment. Back to the profit vs. public safety. Does providing this service take personnel and emergency equipment outside the district for non-emergencies? Yes it does. If God forbid there ever was a real disaster here that required all of the areas resources to respond. How many ambulances and paramedics would be “out of service” on a “taxi run”? For me, one is too many. Taxpayers pay taxes to be protected with all the resources they have paid for.

Then there is the “unnecessary” liability factor.

Check this potential scenario out; The local fire district is called in to do a “private” medical inter-facility transport. Remember this isn’t a call for service from a member of the public or an emergency 911 call, this is a call from a “for profit” health care provider to provide medical non emergency transport. Say that the patient must be transported to Las Vegas, during the trip in the hottest part of the summer, the ambulance breaks down between Searchlight and Vegas. There is no air conditioning and the patient takes a turn for the worse, even though another ambulance has been called and is rushing to the scene, the patient dies. Who do you think would be sued? The local fire district is a pretty good bet. Why should we extend the taxpayers liability beyond first responder emergency services? I don’t think the profits would be worth it.

Now to the free market issue. There ARE private ambulance companies that CAN and want to perform this private service for these private health care providers to do inter-facilty transports and other emergency calls if needed. But the local Fire Districts have to give these private companies the okay. They won’t. Why? Can anyone say monopoly??

Why not allow a private ambulance companies to be in our area? It absolutely WILL make our communities safer. Why? Because they [private ambulance companies] will have paramedics and EMTs and fully equipped ambulances standing by in our community. All of our fire and rescue resources would be in district, while the private “for profit” companies work for the private “for profit” companies and the Public fire service would be serving “the Public” The local fire service should not be a “vendor“ for private healthcare providers. The public should be the fire services one and only customer.

This next point is VERY important as to providing better public safety. Consider this;

Should we really need them[private ambulances] in a real big event, they would already be stationed in the area at the ready to supplement our local fire district ambulances. It means more boots on the ground folks. I can’t see it as a bad thing.

The Economic Future of the United States

As a senior citizen living on my savings, investments and Social Security I spent a lot of time thinking about how best to invest my savings and retirement funds to insure that it will last a lifetime. I listen to the “talking heads” on the financial channels, I read the Investors Business Daily, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, various financial newsletters and have engaged financial consultants for advice , etc, etc. etc.

While each of these sources can always find a reason the market went up or the market went down after the fact, I have yet to find one who spends much time on trying to analyze where the nation and its financial future is headed. Other than those predicting the bankruptcy of Social Security system. Even those that predict the failure of Social Security cannot come up with a reasonable solution that Washington will support.

So I have taken it on myself to come up with my own prediction of the future of the economic health of our nation and what kind of future my children and grandchildren will have to face.

Greed and Power has the potential of our downfall. Our own desire to get the cheapest goods is in itself a form of greed. Because it overlooks the fact that in our quest to have more for less, some one must pay the price. In this case, it is often our neighbor’s job that pays the price, as it is lost to a foreign nation. The greed of corporate CEOs’ to take home the biggest paycheck possible, even though a family can live very, very ,very well on one or two million dollars. Even when they fail they get outrageous golden parachutes. The Greed for Power that our two political parties thrive on, that overwhelms rational decision making by our elected leaders. Forcing our elected leaders to become politicians rather than statesmen that should be making decisions for the betterment of our nation and its future generations of citizens. Seeking not what may be best for the future, but rather what is best for holding onto power for the next election. This in itself creates and environment of shortsighted appeasement to keep the masses voting for them, regardless of whether or not the voters are citizens of this nation. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly ordinary citizens once elected to office can forget where they came from and who they represent. Also, how arrogant they can become, thinking they are special people of privilege.

I am reminded of a time when you got your boarding pass for air travel at the gate kiosk . I was standing in a long line and many of us had waited patiently to get our passes, When I got to the front of the line, a big well dressed man cut in front of all of us. He was greeted by the girl at the counter; “Good Morning Senator“ she said. He got his pass and turned around just in front of me. I said “you must be a politician”, He replied “I prefer Statesman”. To which I replied, “No a statesman would have waited in line for his turn and not crowded in front of all of us, you’re a politician”. He started to say something, but stopped ,when all the other passengers started to applaud. He turned away embarrassed. Perhaps I should not have said what I did, but sometimes someone needs to remind elected leaders that they are after all only people like us.

How did we come to this?

We need to change, to step back from the television set, go back a few years and remember what our nation used to be like. Change the paradigm of our thinking and the way we choose to live. It is after all human nature to want to improve our lives and to succeed, but its time to redefine success. Madison Avenue advertising has played such an important roll in our lives, convincing us that success is, bigger ,it’s better, it’s thinner, it’s prettier , etc., etc. Bigger cars, bigger houses, more stuff, and more stuff, things you just cannot live without. From weight loss programs, to condoms, to hairspray, hairdryers, TV’s to CD’s, pills for diseases you did not even know you had. Television and now the internet have played such an important role in defining us. Putting us all in categories,. That identifies us as Liberals, Conservatives, Hispanic, Blue Collar, White collar, seniors, Consumers....., so on and so on. Making us feel like failures if we do not have a big house, or a big car or several TV’s and the latest gismo or gadget. Madison Avenue has done a great job helping to create the greatest consumer nation in the history of the world. There success has even a greater effect on our choice of leaders that we as a people choose vote for. For a candidate to be elected he/she must meet the beauty standard set by Madison Avenue. If you watched the political debates, you could not help but notice that the people running the show ignored the small skinny little people. If the candidate was a bit homely or soft-spoken, he did not have a chance, even if he had great ideas, and made perfect sense. President Lincoln, or Truman would never have made it to the White House today.

So what does this all mean?

It tells us we as American’s are letting others tell us what we like, what we don’t like, how we should look, how we should talk, how we should vote. We are allowing others to set their standard for our own self image and thinking . As Rush Limbaugh says “ I’ll do the thinking for you.” Great, just what we needed, another person to do our thinking for us. We need to step out of the box, and start to think for ourselves. Get out of the herd mentality, don't be a lemming following the herd over the cliff.

Face the facts; we are a people told how to think not only by the news media and Madison Avenue advertisements, but also by Washington. Spin is everywhere. Politically correct is a must. We lost our own sense of success and what it means to be an American. Independent, and Self reliant . However, we are told what it means, Open Boarders, Free health care, lawsuits are good, they protect you from your neighbor, (not to mention making the lawyers rich) Speak any language you want we will find someone to teach your kid in Ebonics, or Farsi or whatever you speak. It does not matter that you can’t understand what your neighbor is saying.

No, it is time to put our own citizens first in line our own nation. It is good to help other countries and as an American, I would not want it any other way. However, never at the expense of my fellow Americans.

The world consumes approx 26 billion bbl of oil a day now, but we only discover 6 billion bbl a day. The two most populous nations on earth have embarked on major economic expansion that has for several years greatly outstripped the US rate of growth. This has resulted in a huge increase in the demand for energy to feed their economic expansion.

We have not built a new refinery in the US in well over thirty years. EPA regulation and the public refusal to keep them out of their backyard insure that this situation will not change. Environmentalist fight tooth and nail to keep us from drilling in Artic wildlife preserve. The auto industry loves the Profit in the SUV’s since the fall under the truck classification and do not have to meet the EPA mileage standards set of cars. Now find themselves far behind in producing small fuel efficient cars.

Bottom Line the Days of cheap fuel is over. Forget it; plan on paying $4 to $5 a gallon for gas, and in the future look for $8 to $10 a gallon. In addition, when it gets scarce do not be surprised if the government increases the gas tax rapidly just to just to make up any savings you may have from using less gas. After all the Government needs that money to repair all the highways and bridges, that are in disrepair. Don’t they? Build the most energy efficient home possible because you may find yourself forced to choose between eating and paying the heating bill. You know you have to eat.

Yes the days of cheap oil is over the only person that predicted oil to reach a hundred dollars a barrel, was Stephen Leeb, PhD in his 2004 book “The Oil Factor”. People laughed and said that was crazy and call him the $100 a barrel man. Well now that oil is well over $100 a barrel and heading north to higher ground, they are not laughing now. Fortunately, I believed him and bought a few shares of oil stocks.

But just what does this mean? Dr Leeb brought to light in his 2004 book that we have reached “peak oil”. That means we have used up half the worlds supply of oil.

Now, even if we have not reached the point of half way, we know that the oil that is left is harder to get out of the earth, and will cost much more to bring to market for our use. So clearly gas will go higher and higher. Oh sure there will be ups and downs and when it goes down our leaders will again ignore the obvious peak oil views.

Hyper inflation is here now and it could continue for the next decade. Today, trucks that get at best 6 miles per gallon deliver everything we need to live. Oil is the commodity that provides for tires, asphalt. Plastic, fertilizer, carpet, nylon, fuel oil, and gas, thousands upon thousands of products made from oil. Not just, fuel for our cars or power plants.

Outsourcing is a polite way to say we have found a person in another country who will do your job for less. And we don’t have to contribute to Social Security, provide health Insurance or Retirement benefits or buy Worker’s Comp Insurance, pay property tax or state taxes etc, etc, etc. ( so why is SS under funded? Alternatively, 15% of Americans without Health insurance?)

Outsourcing not only takes American jobs but also provides American dollars to foreign companies that can now buy the same companies that they were contracting with.

While leads me to the next topic. And who can blame America‘s Corporations, of all the countries in the world we rank 133rd least friendly tax wise country in which to do business. In other words, there are 132 nations in this world with a better business tax structure than the United States. The United States is not the most business friendly nation in the world in which to do business. Not only do we compete with other countries, our states compete among themselves to lure business to their state from another state. Offering large tax insensitive to companies at the taxpayer’s expense. The cities in states they leave behind are left with rusting plants, unused schools, foreclosed homes, high unemployment, uninsured families and more welfare for the local taxpayer to pick up. It would be nice if the corporate tax structure were level from state to state. It is too much to hope that they would ever be equal nation to nation.

We are creating our own competitors. Boeing is joint venturing with China to build aircraft. One of the nation’s greatest exporters and great defense companies need I say more. IBM is has sold their PC division to the Chinese. Dirt Devil the little red vacuums so popular was once a great little company that employed several hundred people in the Cleveland area. That is until that outsourced the assembly of their vacuums Now the outsource assembler owns Dirt Devil. Not only will they continue to take American jobs but also they will soon own the same companies that once contracted with to make the American company’s product. Soon China, India, Taiwan Korea etc will be our major competitors on the world market and because of their low wages taxes etc they will win and the American worker will pay the price. In addition, America’s wealth will erode, nations true wealth lies in ability to create good that humankind needs. That is what makes the dollar a desirable currency. However, have you noticed the dollar continues to decline in value on the world market? We once were the breadbasket for the world; today we import more food than we export. We once had the greatest auto industry in the world. Now over 35% of all autos sold in the US are foreign owned companies. Those Americans fortunate enough to hold onto good paying jobs will end up paying more to support those of us unable to support ourselves making your beds and flipping your burgers.

Now remember I talked about Hyper Inflation as these nations continue to develop their industrial capacity, the competition for the raw commodities will grow greater and greater, pushing the cost of the materials needed to fuel our remaining industries higher and higher. Thus forcing these same companies to move to those countries with the lowest wages to stay profitable. As this process unfolds, we will be forced to buy more and more imports thus continuing to increase the trade deficit and reducing the value of the dollar.

There are many events that are coming together, that will challenge our future.

What we need to do

The future does not have to be as gloomy as I have described above. We can have a very bright future. Imagine a place where hi speed trains crisscross the nation moving people at 200 mph. Where electric cars fill the highways and air is clean and free of pollution.

Where power is generated by the wind and solar panels on homes, and offices, and coal burns clean and can be used to generate all the energy we need to heat our homes and factories. Where good paying jobs are plentiful in the alternative energy field and rebuilding our nations understructure. Where schools are graduating, Engineers, Doctors, Scientist, Programmers, and all kinds of technicians to support new industries and research .

However, it will require leadership, the kind of leadership that this nation as not seen for years. Not just in the White House, but also in the Senate, and the House of Representatives as well. In city council’s, county governments and state houses, everywhere. No matter who we elect as our next President, he can’t do it alone. He will need wisdom, foresight, and the support of the American people.

I have made my list of things to do: make your own and add to it if you think, I have missed something.

1. I am tired of hearing that the IMMIGRATION LAWS are broken. They are NOT BROKEN; they are just not being enforced. We have laws to allow immigrants into this country to work, use them. If you tell a lie long, enough it becomes the truth.

2. Its time for us to get on the fast track to energy independence. Renew tax credits for home solar systems, and energy updates of any kind. We give tax breaks for the oil companies, why not the citizens of this nation.

3. Mandate higher mileage requirements for our autos. Europe all ready gets better mileage than congress has mandated for 2015 requirements. Europe averages 42 mpg now.

4. Increase, funding for research in the all fields of alternative energy. By Massive amounts. We spend more in 40 hours in Iraq than we spent in all of 2007 on energy research.

5. Stop all Pork Barrel spending. Do not allow earmarks to any bill that requires funding without at least 3 days prior to voting on it, thus allowing a complete review by all elected officials and the office of the budget. Never allow earmarks added to bills that don’t have anything to do with the primary purpose of the bill to be voted on.

6. Hold any employer responsible for the medical bills resulting from the employ of illegal aliens using hospitals. Other companies have to provide medical insurance for their employees. We should not have to subsidize these employers of illegal aliens.

7. Corporations are not people, the Supreme Court need to review that fact. And not allow corporations to donate anymore than an individual person can to a candidate.

8. All campaign funds must be raised within the state, district, city in which he/she is running to represent. The Office of president the only exception.

9. Close the boarder, what ever it takes.

10. No federal funds to any government ,state, county or city that does not enforce federal laws.

11. make a concentrated effort similar to the 1960’s to increase the number of engineers and scientist in our nations schools.

12. Do not allow anyone other than natural citizens to work in our most secure scientific labs.

13. Do Not vote for anyone that has served more than two terms. Pay the congress and senate minimal wage. And see how long they would “serve” their nation.

14. Require a balanced budget.

15. Stop being the worlds policeman. Mind our own business. Look at all the money we would save.

16. Mandate that English is the national language, and require it in all schools, immerse our children in English. Abraham Lincoln once said a house divided could not stand. Sorry for the long "pause" from blogging. Seems I've had my hands full these past few weeks. So I thought I would take some time this morning and mention just a few things that are on my mind. Hey I was on a national talk show on Sirius 146 Left Friday morning. I called into the Alex Bennett Program and had a few words with a fellow broadcaster. I let him know that there were still independent broadcasters that DO put on programs that have opposing viewpoints. KTOX isnt all left, or all right. I try to let the programming reflect the community overall. I told Alex to watch out for his job. I wanted it. Oh yeah I always wanted to be able to say "shit" over the air. I did it finally on satellite and it felt gooooood!

On another note; Look, I hate to hear when anyone passes away. Especially at the young age that Tony Snow was. (53 yrs) But I don't agree with all the analysis of his professional career. These network comrades of his, are always careful never to say a bad word about anyone who passes away. But lets be honest. No one is "perfect" when they're living. They only become "perfect" when they're frickin' DEAD!! He may have been a nice Dad and a good husband whose friends admired him. And that's all fine and dandy. But I think Tony Snow was the spokeperson for one of the most dangerous and powerful Presidential regimes in history. A regime that made lying and obsfucating chic! A presidential wart on the face of America. Which made the ugly Americans even uglier. Tony Snow was hired to pull a "snow" job on the American people. A professional bullshitter. His professional life is shameful. His personal life seems decent. May God have mercy on his soul.

Healing....Static Removal

The body is not a solid, three-dimensional object that we see with our eyes. Everything is in a state of vibration. We are all vibrating atomic and sub-atomic particles with lots of “space” in-between. Ancient people understood this and now modern physics has verified it. This vibrating energy is sometimes referred to as the bioelectric life force or, more simply, the energy field.

Negative emotions and feelings of loss or betrayal cause "static" in this bioelectric life force. Mental and emotional states influence a body's energy field so it's no surprise that these negative powerful emotions are likely to create undesirable changes ("static") in this energy field.

Releasing negative emotions and strengthening the connection to "inner power" are two important functions in the healing process. At an energetic level, this means removing “static” in the energy flow, and harmonizing the body’s vibrational patterns.

An act of betrayal can hurt as much as, if not more than, a physical injury, but the trauma resides not in the body but in the mental/emotional/spiritual realm – our subtle energy fields. If we think of betrayal as a wound to the energy system, it follows that to heal; we must acknowledge and work with this same energy system.

Imagine feeling peaceful, connected, accepted, and safe – a creator instead of a victim. By influencing vibrations at the body’s energetic level, we can recover from betrayal and move on to creating our life.

How do we achieve this?

Who hasn’t heard of the healing power of nature? Earth energy, “in the wild”, is vibrating in perfect harmony. This is the pattern we are trying to recapture in our subtle energy bodies.

Our personal energy system is affected by the energy around us, human and non-human. It makes sense for us to attempt to surround ourselves with "good vibrations". This is particularly important when our energy system is “hurt” and we are grappling with painful feelings.

Prayer or meditation can quiet the soul and allow the self to begin to hear the Creator and understand the process that we must go through to heal ourselves.

Music is said to be the most direct path to the emotions. So for me, I play music. Not everyone can play music, but everyone can listen to music. Find the music that relaxes you and brings you to a higher place of consciousness.

Things will get better. Just stop the World and listen in.

How Can We Save America?

America, even with all of its current problems, is still the greatest country on Earth. But it didn't get to be that way easily. Our founding fathers were on the right track from the very beginning and they knew that only a government that was based on the priciples of unalienable basic human rights would be worthy of their sacrifices.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

And they sacrificed everything. Since then, many more Americans made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the very priciples that our founding fathers laid out for us in the Constitution. All the answers to our current economic, international, military, civilian and domestic problems can be solved if we simply began actually following the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and re-discovered the founding fathers intent when this great nation of ours was founded. We owe it to all of those who came before us to stand up for the very form of government they intended for us all. Take some time and visit some sites that qoute our founding fathers, read the Constitution again, get back inside their heads and find out where your roots as an American came from. I believe if you do this, you will agree that we already have all the answers. Follow the Constitution!!

It’s no secret that we are funding President Bush’s “freedom crusade” to bring our brand of democracy to the Middle East. We do it by borrowing billions of dollars from the Communist Chinese to fund the occupation of Iraq, and go house to house busting down doors to check for “extremists”. I don’t know about you, but I find it remarkably odd that we are borrowing money from communists to wage war to bring about liberty and democracy for another country.

The other thing to consider is; what’s in it for the Chinese? "They" know what were doing with the cash. Why would "they" fund our military operations to bring liberty to the rest of the World? How far will "they" let us go? Or could it be that "they" are cleverly helping to drain us of everything? Our manufacturing base, our industries, our medicine, our textiles, our jobs, our copyrights and patents, our technology, our tooling, our ports, virtually everything is being swallowed by the Hungry Dragon. "They" even control our ability to wage and sustain wars. This should give you some food for thought. Forget about learning Spanish, you’d better start learning how to speak "their" language..... Chinese!

I know some folks get a bit uncomfortable whenever someone starts talking about religion outside of the proper setting (i.e. church, synagogue, TBN). But I just can't help myself. So off into the realm of the spiritual I go. Next stop....Kingdom of Heaven!!

I read excerpts from the Book of James in the New Testament today on the air. James was the half brother to Jesus and the book was written around 40-50 A.D. It's a letter to the "twelve tribes" throughout the world, but it's words are just as true today.

I like to read from the New Living Translation Bible for a few good reasons. First of all, it's not like reading Shakespeare. And secondly, most regular folks can relate better to it.

The translation follows the "equivalence" or "thought for thought" method of translation rather than a more literal method. The goal is "to create a text that would make the same impact in the life of modern readers that the original text had for the original readers"

The Truth is Fugly!

People are cruel. That is the truth. People can also be compassionate. That is also the truth. One truth is ugly, while the other is attractive. But one thing remains constant. The truth. And the truth is fugly.

Even though I am an ordained Reverend, I admit I hardly know the Bible as I should. But one thing I have noticed is the constant references to the "truth".

The "truth shall set you free" and all. Jesus constantly refers to the "truth" in the New Testament over and over again. So the truth must be important. Look for yourself, you'll be amazed.

Today I watched Rev. Jeremiah Wright "live" and unedited speaking at the National Press Club. By this afternoon, the major media completely twisted, edited (again) and took Rev Wrights comments out of context. Trying desperately to make him seem like a "hater". This demostration of the media's ability to frame any statement made by anyone speaking the truth into a radical extremist is part of the plan to control your minds. You dont have time to listen to every speech. So you count on the media to give you a summary of what happened. When the media edits, frames, opines, and loops controversial remarks made during the speech, even Mother Teresa could be portrayed as Adolph Hitler.

It has become obvious that the major news media have abandoned any allegience to bringing you the truth. Unless it serves their interests. Today news is more entertainment than truth. Truth doesn't sell.

What Hanna Montana wore in a Vanity Fair photo spread is much more important than say...the frickin WAR Bush got us in the middle of!!! I watched the news all day today and all I saw were clips from Barack Obamas pastor Jeremiah Wright. All of it taken out of context and colored to make you believe Wright is a nutbar. I also heard of a storm in Suffolk VA that did quite a bit of damage. But not ONE single mention, let alone a story from Iraq.

I guess that's what you get from watching Fox news. What was I expecting? That all of a sudden they were going to tell me something I really needed to know, without trying to stimulate the fear and hate centers of my mind.

Fox news is dangerous. They've been so busy trying to tie Barack Obama to anything directly or indirectly that will get people not to trust the "half white" guy, that they forget the direct ties George Bush Sr.'s father and G.W.Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, WHO DID SUPPORT ADOLPH HITLER!!! That is a historical fact. Not EVER reported on Fox. Guilt by association???? Gimme a frickin break!! Obama's pastor MAY be a hater. George Bush's grandpa WAS a Nazi!
And Republicans didn't have a problem with that. They elected the grandson of a Nazi supporter. Can Barack beat that?? Can you say......fugly??

Polygamists Face Off Against Each Other And Police

Hurricane, UT – The long time feud over polygamist rights is coming to a head in Hildale, Utah and Colorado City, Arizona. Within the past three weeks Warren Jeffs, the prophet of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka FLDS), has excommunicated twenty men and demanded they immediately leave the Colorado City/Hildale area. The men were some of the more prominent in the polygamist community, but had fallen on disfavor in Jeffs’ eyes and were stripped of their positions within the church, their properties, and their families. This turmoil within the community has resulted in a few of the children escaping the compound and being held in safe houses in the Phoenix area – while Colorado City law enforcement personnel demand their return. Flora Jessop, who escaped from Colorado City fifteen years ago, has become an activist for the children and has made statements to the press that she will not return the children to their polygamist parents.
In an interview this morning with the new Mohave County Attorney, Matthew Smith, there appears to be hope for the girls, some as young as twelve, faced with plural marriage to men three and four times their age. Smith says he will begin actively enforcing child rape, statutory rape, incest, and sex with a minor child statutes against the perpetrators residing in Mohave County. Smith also stated the County Attorney for Washington County, Utah has agreed to step in on the Utah side of the state line.
Strong evidence has been discovered that the leaders of various polygamist groups have taken boys, as young as fifteen, to large cities - Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City - and abandoned them on the streets. These boys have been “convicted” of the crime of looking at or speaking with a girl who had been promised to one of the adult men in the community. It is also alleged that once the young men within the sect turn the age of eighteen they are banished and turned onto the streets because they are no longer eligible for social security or welfare, whereas the women – who will continue to produce babies into their forties – are an economic asset to the leadership of the church.
Another disturbing aspect of how far the leaders of this community will go to improve their personal economic picture stems from the desire for handicapped children. By selective in- and cross-breeding the incidents of retarded or handicapped children increases. Additional government funds are available for special-needs children, adding more to the monthly “take” of the group. The polygamists find nothing dishonest in any of their scams to take taxpayer money, and have given the practice the name, “Bleeding The Beast.”
As we walked the streets of both Colorado City and Hildale, we were struck with the almost ghost town atmosphere, as the people remained inside their homes, fearing to come out and talk with us. The children – and there are literally hundreds in these two tiny communities – were nowhere to be seen. But beneath this surface of calm lies a cauldron ready to explode at any moment. The presence of state (AZ and UT) and county law enforcement conspicuously driving the streets is evidence that the fear of armed response is not only possible, but also expected. On numerous occasions I was asked by officers in both Arizona and Utah to explain what I was doing in the area and to show my carry permit for a concealed weapon.
It is difficult to explain what may be the flash point in this confrontation, but I feel it will have much more to do with the money being taken in by the leaders of this cult, rather than in any religious rights they feel they may have. In this reporter’s opinion, if the polygamists were told they would be free to practice their religious beliefs, but there would no longer be the hand-outs of Social Security and welfare payments, it would signal the end of this “lifestyle” for both of these tiny communities backed into the red foothills of the Vermillion Cliffs of Southern Utah.

Polygamy in Arizona and Utah is very much a reality, with authorities estimating the number of polygamists at between 30,000 and 50,000. Most of the polygamy compounds, such as Hildale, UT and Colorado City, AZ straddle the Arizona/Utah state lines, thus muddying each state’s jurisdiction. Some polygamists, though, live openly in larger cities such as Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
Utah and much of Arizona were settled by Mormon pioneers who practiced polygamy under the original direction of church founder, Joseph Smith. Following Smith’s murder in Nauvoo, IL Brigham Young assumed control of the church and moved the Mormons west to The Great Salt Lake Basin region, where they continued the practice of polygamy. Although officially disavowed by the Mormon Church in 1890 and outlawed in Utah in 1896 as a condition of statehood, polygamy remained very much alive in the outlying Mormon communities.
In 1953, on the instructions of then Arizona Governor Howard Pyle, the Arizona National Guard raided the large polygamist compound in Short Creek, Arizona (now Colorado City). Utah authorities declined to take part in the raid. The polygamist males were briefly jailed, but because the women - who had been trained to obey the men’s every command - refused to testify against them, prosecution failed. The women also protested that without their men they would have no means of support. Photographs of impoverished women, surrounded by large numbers of children, ran in newspapers across the United States, as well as in a feature story in Life Magazine. Readers, mostly unaware of the abuses of women by their polygamist “husbands”, saw Pyle as a hard-hearted destroyer of families, effectively destroying his political career. The men were released from custody and returned to their polygamist lifestyles. Since 1953, there has never been another raid into a polygamist compound. Politician’s fear what happened to Pyle may be their fate if they attempt to prosecute.
What few prosecutions have taken place in the past fifty years have not been for polygamy, but (with one famous exception) for the crimes which continue to surround polygamy: sexual assault, child endangerment, battering, welfare fraud and racketeering. Violence towards girls and women in a polygamist compound is common, but any escape from the abuse, or a compound, is extremely uncommon. Polygamist women are forbidden to use any type of birth control and their husbands maintain a chart of their fertile days in order to impregnate them more easily.
The ideal among many polygamy sects is for every woman to have one baby per year until her child-bearing years are over, thus insuring her husband's place in the celestial kingdom or the "Highest Heaven.” When a girl does escape from a polygamist compound, county law officers usually return her to the compound. In April, of 2001, a fifteen-year-old girl ran away from her polygamous family, telling authorities that her parents were about to force her into a polygamous marriage with the much-married Warren Jeffs (son of sects group founder, Rulon Jeffs who recently died, leaving behind a reported 75 wives), the No. 2 leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka FLDS). Despite her pleas, the sheriff’s department returned her to the compound, releasing a statement to the media that since the girl was a minor her parents had the right to decide how she would live. This is the crux of the problem – a person is classified as a minor until the age of eighteen, so a runaway at an earlier age will ALWAYS be returned to her family, even though that family will force her into a marriage.
In a similar case, Ruby Jessop, a fifteen-year-old girl fleeing an illegal marriage was returned to her polygamous parents by St. George, Utah, Director of Family Services Gene Ashdown, who said, "As far as I am concerned, there are no abuses in Hildale or Colorado City. If Ruby has to deal with an unwanted marriage, that is her problem." He said he would henceforth see to it that all runaway girls were returned to the compounds. Ruby's sister, upon contacting the FBI, was told they had no jurisdiction in the case, even though the girl was eventually transported across state lines (Utah to Arizona) for "marriage" to another polygamist.
In 1998, John Daniel Kingston, of Salt Lake City, Utah, was arrested for beating his sixteen-year-old daughter for resisting his order for her to become the 15th wife of Daniel Ortell Kingston, her uncle. The girl, who had been beaten more than twenty times, suffered a broken nose and deep bruises on her face and buttocks. After being confined to a desert "re-education camp" for recalcitrant women and children, she eventually submitted to the sham marriage and subsequent rape. She finally escaped by staggering several miles through the desert to a gas station, where she was helped by concerned customers. Her father and uncle are now serving prison terms for incest and felony child abuse, but not polygamy.
Because of their tight-knit and secluded compounds, the pool of possible mates among the various polygamy clans remains small. This frequently leads to incestuous plural marriages. Sometimes, however, that incest is purposeful. The Kingston clan (cited above) was founded by Charles Elden Kingston, who - after experimenting with breeding dairy cattle - set up a similar breeding program for his own children. To this day, members of the Kingston clan are allowed to breed only with blood relatives.
In an article written by Greg Burton, printed in the Salt Lake Tribune April 25, 1999, Connie Rugg, one of John Ortell Kingston's estimated 65 children, said, "All (of) my life my family told me I had to marry a Kingston. I could choose, but it had to be a brother, uncle or cousin." Many Kingston children are born with serious birth defects directly traceable to the sect’s breeding program. According to the Burton article, one Kingston girl was born with two vaginas and two uteruses but no vaginal or bowel opening. Congenital blindness and dwarfism are common among members of the Kingston group, as are microcephaly, spina bifida, Down syndrome, kidney disease and abnormal leg and arm joints. In the strange world of the polygamist birth defects are considered to be a blessing because it means more income for the men in the form of additional social security and welfare payments.
These children and their mothers (who are designated as unwed mothers by both Arizona and Utah social service agencies) receive considerable medical care and welfare, all paid for by the U.S., state and county taxpayer. Under Utah law, it is a felony for close relatives to have sex, but this law is - as is the law against polygamy - rarely prosecuted, and then only when considerable physical force has been used upon an unwilling girl. Daniel Ortell Kingston's prosecution for incest is one of the few on record.
Although the women in most polygamy sects are not allowed to inherit or own property, and thus live in dire poverty, the leaders of these sects are often quite wealthy. Reporter Lou Kilzer, in an article in the Denver Rocky Mountain News, August 14, 2000, connected the Kingston sect's holdings to organized crime.
The Kingston’s business empire includes casino gaming equipment such as slot and video poker machines (purchased from Mafia-controlled companies in New Jersey), coal mines, accounting firms, finance companies, pawnshops, bail bond firms, poker parlors and huge cattle ranches (a 160,000 acre ranch in Nevada formerly belonged to actor James Stewart). Estimates of the Kingston sect's wealth range from $150 million to - by one of their business competitors - $11 billion. According to Kilzer's article, the 1,000 member sect is currently headed by Paul Kingston, a Salt Lake City attorney with 32 wives and more than 200 children.
A Los Angeles Times article written by Julie Cart, dated Sept. 9, 2001, assessed polygamy's cost to the U.S. taxpayer. She cited U.S. Census Bureau estimates that found every school-age child in Colorado City, Utah, was living below the poverty level. This level of poverty is unlikely to change, since many polygamists - who are unwilling to have their children influenced by "outsiders" - have pulled their children from the public school.
Cart's article also cited wide-ranging tax fraud, since polygamists rarely declare the full extent of their income. This income-hiding behavior was highlighted in the 2001-2002 bigamy and child-rape trial of Tom Green in Salt Lake City. Court documents revealed that Green’s five wives had been supporting him by selling magazine subscriptions while the family was collecting large welfare payments. The child rape charges emerged from findings that Green impregnated one “wife” when she was only thirteen - with the permission of her mother, who was also married to Green. To date, the mother (now Green's ex-wife) has not been prosecuted for aiding in child rape. Green is now serving 20 years to life in prison; his wives and 29 children remain on welfare.
In Cart's article on incest and polygamy, Cart stated that the combination of birth defects, poverty and the lack of education, have overtaxed the already strained public service agencies of both Arizona and Utah. In fact, Cart found that Medicaid pays for more than one-third of the babies born in Utah, with plural wives accounting for a disproportionate share of those births.
According to an article by Tom Zoellner, in the Salt Lake Tribune, June 28, 1998, fully 33% of the residents in the polygamous Hildale and Colorado City area are using U.S. Dept. of Agriculture food stamps to feed their families (the average in Arizona is 6.7%, and in Utah 4.7%). The town of Hildale was also awarded $405,006 in federal housing grants to refurbish 19 homes on polygamist-owned land. Colorado City and Hildale rank among the top 10 in the Intermountain West in reliance on Medicaid and government-issued food.
Proving a polygamy case continues to be difficult, since most polygamist wives refuse to testify against men they consider as their husbands. Proving child rape is difficult because, as seen in the Green case, the parents agree to the illegal "marriages" of their children.
The children themselves have been taught from birth to blindly obey the dictates of their parents and sect leaders. Also, the girls are moved back and forth between compounds, thus making establishing the actual place of statutory (or actual) rape is difficult, because establishing the exact place where the act took place is necessary for prosecution. In addition, many of these child marriages are consummated in Mexico, where the majority of Arizona's and Utah’s polygamy sects have set up satellite compounds beyond the reach of U.S. jurisdiction.
Complicating the polygamy issue is suspicion that the polygamy compounds have stockpiled large caches of guns and explosives in various caves near the compounds. Few politicians want to face the prospect of another Waco. However, in some cases, Utah and Arizona county prosecutors simply decline to prosecute. In a front page article in the Salt Lake Tribune, published May 20, 2001, Mohave County (Arizona) Attorney William J. Ekstrom Jr., said, "We don’t view polygamy as a prosecutable crime. There is no driving desire to prosecute people for these types of things. We see it as consensual relations between adults."
Most women and girls in today's polygamy compounds are, like their predecessors, the victims of learned helplessness. Most are undereducated, have no job skills, no bank accounts, no property, and no income other than their welfare checks, which they hand over to their husbands. In the unlikely event they ever leave the compounds, they are poorly equipped to find jobs and support their children. The few women who have managed to leave the compounds usually leave their children behind.
The polygamists depend on public and governmental apathy in order to maintain their lifestyle. The only people empowered to change this state of affairs are the governors and attorneys general of Arizona and Utah, as well as the legislators of both states. In a Los Angeles Times article by Julie Cart, published Aug. 25, 2002, Arizona state rep. Linda Binder, an anti-polygamy activist, complained that her efforts to pass legislation curbing polygamy in Arizona has continually met with resistance from other elected officials. Binder said, "We have a situation here that is unconscionable. We have the Taliban in our back yard."

I thought; these guys were great, why don't they have a record out?. It was at that point I decided to start a record company called Dr. Dream Records. It started with a single desk and a phone that never rang in my Dads insurance office. Eighteen years later, it was labelled by the LA Times as Orange County's "Premier Independent Record Company". We produced about a hundred records, operated our own recording studio, had a retail record store, and a decent worldwide distribution network, plus our own national record distribution company. In 1996 I made the decision to sell the company to Mercury/Polygram. In 1997 the deal closed. Then Universal bought Polygram and that ended Dr. Dream. I apologize to those who were left in the ashes of that, but I felt that the bands that were still signed to the label would have benefitted if they had the power and resources of a major label behind them. It was devastating learning of the labels ultimate demise.

I moved to Arizona and got involved in radio. It's been almost 12 years and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about all the great times and all the talented and gifted people who ran with me in those days to achieve seemingly impossible goals. But we did it. The Dream was real and we lived it. The recordings are out there and that's the proof. The memories are more than just recordings. The memories are friendships, relationships, marriages, and laughter. I often wonder what the world would be like, if Dr. Dream had never been. Dr. Dream was more than a record label, it shaped the lives and careers of so many people and I hope that in some way it helped us all to achieve our dreams. Well, another Sunday has come and gone. The mainstream media is still regurgitating that stale old topic of "who's better" to win against John McCain...Hillary or Barack? Bla, bla, bla!

Racism is the new hip topic. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination 40 years ago has fit nicely into the Black/White racism media flap. Notwithstanding the possibility of America electing it's first "half white" president.

I heard one radio talk show host say "We are commemorating the death of MLK". Commemorating?? That almost sounds like "celebrating" his MURDER!!

The media has almost totally re-framed the murder of MLK.

I keep hearing things like; "The day he died" or "commemorating his death"
The way they talk, it's as if he died of natural causes or something. The truth is the man was shot by a white racist and was killed, murdered, assassinated, gunned down. But not "died". Charlton Heston "died" today. Don't forget MLK was MURDERED!

Mohave High School needs your HELP!!

Mohave High School has a beautiful Auditorium that was recently remodelled with state of the art mixing console,lighting and the whole shabang! They forgot just one important element...microphones. Without proper microphones, no one in the audience will be able to hear the performances. The school DESPERATELY needs these wireless microphones. The school needs 10 of these systems before April 8th. As they start dress rehearsals for their play "Cinderella" on the 12th. These systems cost $199.95 a set ( these are low budget mics, most hi-end systems cost $400-$600 dollars each ) but these will do the trick. We need to come together as a community and get donations or find sponsors who will agree to purchase a set for the school. It is a tax deductible donation. Guilt by Association!!

Recently Barack Obama's pastor has been the main news lately. I guess it's the old "guilt by association" tactic. The media is trying to hold Obama responsible for the opinions of his pastor.

I think Obama missed a golden opportunity here. His reaction was to "distance" himself from the pastor. Not the best choice, because its politically expected. In other words, that's what they want him to do. He's being played.

His response should have been; " I am running for the Presidency of the United States. To represent all people from all walks of life in this great land of ours. My job will be to protect the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of these United States, and that includes the First Amendment right of all Americans to be able to speak their minds freely. I will not agree with many opinions that many who support me have. But I will defend and respect their Constitutional right to express their opinions freely"

That would have ended the whole thing. Stick with the Constitution Barack!

This is my good friend Josh Agle aka SHAG. I met Josh in 1985. He was in the band Swamp Zombies that were signed to the Dr. Dream label. Josh was the art director for Dr. Dream and was probably the most influential person for creating the total Dr. Dream image. Easy going, hard working and sensible Josh was always working on a new design for whatever the label needed. He also was the editor of "The Dream Scene" our whenever newsletter. Now, looking back on all the changes that happened over the "Dr. Dream" years. I can safely say that Josh was the rock. He was the longest continuous employee for Dr. Dream. When times were tough and money was tight Josh believed in what we were doing and hung in there, even when better paying gigs were offered him. He was my very best employee and hung with the label even after I left.

We recently re-connected and we're planning a Dr. Dream Records Reunion. I'll keep everyone posted on the details as they solidify. Recently I received an email of a photograph of a plaque that is prominately displayed in Mohave County Supervisor Buster Johnsons Office. I find this very suspect considering the company MTC is the prison. Is there a conflict of interest here? Considering the following article I read in the Kingman Daily Miner that was published in April of 2007;

KINGMAN - The Mohave County Board of Supervisors decided at its meeting Monday to take no action on an offer to partner with Management and Training Corporation to build a federal prison in the county.

During the Board's March 19 meeting, MTC approached the Board with three options on building a federal prison in the county.

The first two options included increasing the size of the proposed new county jail.

The last option had the prison being built somewhere else in the county.

County Manager Ron Walker explained to the Board that he had spoken to the county's Department of Procurement and the Legal Department about the unsolicited bid the county had received from MTC. Both departments told him that the county could find itself in either a criminal or civil lawsuit if it accepted the offer to add on to the new jail without going through the entire state procurement process.

The state procurement process requires the county to make available to every contractor the option of bidding on the project.

The only way the county could get around the bidding process was if MTC had a unique service that no other corporation in the world could offer the county.

Walker said the third option of partnering to build a prison that would only house federal inmates was still an option, but he called it premature. The federal government has not yet started the bidding process on the project and it is unclear which of the many private prison companies would win the bid, he said.

Walker said it would be better if the county waited to see who the winner of the federal project would be than to lock in a contract with one corporation now.

Also, the federal government's contract includes the stipulation that the prison must be built within 75 miles of Las Vegas. The best area in Mohave County within 75 miles of Vegas is the White Hills area, he said.

"I think at this point we are unable to be able to follow up on any further discussion on this issue," Walker said.

Two Mohave County residents raised objections to the proposed prison. One man asked what types of federal inmates would be housed at the prison. He also questioned MTC's motives for bringing a new prison into the county.

"It's a used car sales pitch, I think," he said.

Supervisor Buster Johnson said the prison would be a temporary holding area for federal prisoners before they are formally sentenced. No prisoners from the facility would be released into local communities.

Johnson said MTC was looking at Mohave County because of its proximity to the federal courthouse in Las Vegas and the affordability of land in the county.

"So we got cheap dirt?" the man asked.

Johnson said there could be a number of benefits to the county if the county signed a contract with the federal government and then subcontracted the operation of the prison out.
A Golden Valley resident raised questions about the amount of water the prison would use.

Supervisor Tom Sockwell said, "I really feel that Mohave County should just be a little bit careful in entering into contracts with private industry. Looks like we've done it twice. Looks like twice we've come up with egg on our face. I think we should be very, very careful."

Johnson said he agreed with Walker on the first two options proposed by MTC but felt that the third option still needed to be looked at as a possibility.

He said the prison could offer the area good jobs and a new well system. The county could collect a per diem charge for each inmate and could own the facility in the end without any cost to the taxpayer for construction.

It was important to sign a contract now, Johnson said, because if they didn't, then whoever won the bid would have no contractual obligation to the county, and the county would lose out on many of the benefits.

Walker said he saw no purpose in entering into a contract with a private prison company now. It would be better to wait and see which company won the federal bid and see if that company was interested in building in Mohave County. The Board took no action

Good people gone bad?? You have to admit that dealing with sociopathic criminal minds with nothing to lose, could start to get to anyone. I recently met Dana Hlavac. Dana is running for Mohave County Superior Court Judge Division 5. I had never met Dana, and that is probably a good thing, since Dana has been both Chief Prosecutor and Chief Public Defender.I have to say, I was really impressed. I had only one important question for Dana. The answer to my question would determine whether I thought this guy would be a good judge or not. His outwardly appearance could be a bit intimidating, but after I met him, I quickly knew this guy was actually quite a soft spoken,articulate and compassionate man. Seeing that a Judge has control over peoples lives, and families, and fortunes. A Judges responsiblity is great and I had but one question to ask Dana, and I knew from talking with him for just a few minutes that my answer had been given without having to come right out and state it. My question, my concern, for anyone given such power was this; Does he have a heart?, and does he understand the enormous spritual accountability his office would be held accountable to?. What have you done for us lately Senator McCain?

I'm really puzzled by the excitement of making John McCain our next President. After doing just a few minutes of research into the Senators voting record. It amazes me that he has missed 261 votes in this session of the U.S. Senate. That's 55.7% of the votes. The only other Senator who has missed more votes is Democratic Senator from South Dakota Tim Johnson who has missed 311 votes or 66.3% of the votes. As a resident of Arizona, I can't recall a single thing that Senator John McCain has done for his own States constituents. He brags about knowing what to do about illegal imigration because "he comes from a border state", but he hasn't done a damn thing about closing our borders for how many years?? If he is a half-assed Senator missing more than half the votes on the Senate Floor, why should we make him President? Inquiring minds want to know!

After last nights Wisconsin primary John McCain criticized Barack Obama saying "we would risk the confused leadership of an inexperienced candidate, who once suggested bombing our ally Pakistan". Of course McCain took Obamas quote out of context, but that's not the rub here. McCain should have done his homework because the current President G.W.Bush authorized a strike IN PAKISTAN of a hellfire missle against a Al Queda terrorist and killed him WITHOUT the approval of the Pakistani government late last month.

The 62-year-old singer brought his new movie, "CSNY Deja Vu," to the Berlin film festival Friday. The film was shot during the 2006 Freedom of Speech tour by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Young, who directed the movie under the pseudonym Bernard Shakey, wasn't making any big claims about its effects.
"I think that the time when music could change the world is past," he told reporters. "I think it would be very naive to think that in this day and age."
Young added: "I think the world today is a different place, and that it's time for science and physics and spirituality to make a difference in this world and to try to save the planet."

Sorry Neil I'll have to disagree. Maybe its just YOUR music that can't change the world anymore. It's time for a new generation of socially conscious music that CAN change the world. Music is the Universal communication of the soul.
